Embrace Your Inner Boss Babe
By Jennifer Shultz, CEO of Jennifer Shultz Style
If you’re looking for an easy, yet super powerful secret weapon that will boost your confidence, increase your impact and influence, and skyrocket your success in business and life, just look in the mirror!
Looking back at you is the Boss Babe that can and will empower you to create your very best life. Boss Babes are a movement today that I’m really excited to share. What does it mean? As a Boss Babe, you are embracing your style, creativity, and everything that is unique about you, and channeling it into creating a life and business you love.
Why is it important for us to embrace our inner Boss Babe? Every time you walk into a meeting, stroll down a red carpet, stand in front of the camera, or even just meet someone new for the first time, people are deciding on the spot if they trust you, want to learn more about you, or are ready to do business with you. All based on the style and personality that you project.
It takes just a quick glance for someone to create a first impression that can either help or hurt you. Think about it – how many times have you looked at the way someone presented themselves at a networking event, from the stage, in a YouTube video, or even when they are sitting next to you at a friend’s birthday party, and you’ve experienced an immediate attraction – or repulsion – without really being able to put your finger on the why?
It’s true what your mom always told you – you never get a second chance to make a first impression. It takes only seconds for people to size you up. Psychologists call it “thin slicing.” You can’t help it, it’s a subconscious reaction. Within moments of meeting someone, you decide all sorts of things about them, from status to intelligence.
When you are representing your business, the first impressions you make can create an emotional, lasting connection that can build up your audience, excited new customers, close the deal, and benefit your business. On the other hand, if your first impression isn’t so great, it can be the reason that people are running away, not listening, and not interested in what you are offering.
That’s why I am so passionate about helping women embrace their own personal style and unleash their inner Boss Babe so that they are living in true alignment with their authentic self and the message they want to share with the world. A Boss Babe knows that the nonverbal cues she shares with the people around her can help to connect with her target audience, boost her credibility and trust factor, and inspire loyal relationships that help create the life you want.
Don’t forget, though, that being a Boss Babe involves much more than what you look like on the outside. Yes, what you wear, your physical appearance, and your non-verbal gestures all help to influence how others perceive you. But what truly makes a Boss Babe confident and in control of the message she is sending is her energy, personality, vitality and confidence that she is a unique and essential part of her world.
If you need a jump-start for finding your inner Boss Babe, I suggest checking out an article on the Women Network blog titled “Be Bold.” In it, managing editor for Women Network online magazine Michelle Pierson Young shared this quote: “Attract what you expect, reflect what you desire, become what you respect, mirror what you admire.” LOVE IT! Start there and you’re well on your way.
