Wow, as I write this I’m feeling so grateful and blessed for the wonderful turnout and amazing support we had for the Spring Fever Uber-Chic Fashion Show in Westlake Village last week. Everything was incredible; the venue, models, fashions, sponsors and (best of all!) everyone who showed up to support the event, our local vendors, and
celebrity-actress-activist Fran Drescher’s non-profit Cancer Schmancer. I’m proud to tell you that due to the generous donations from our vendors and the generosity of the people who attended and participated in the raffle, we went over our goal that will support cancer screening, detection and prevention.

The show was high energy, great music, the models had so much fun, and the fashions were perfect for the season. Our models, who ranged in age from 13 to 61, showed beautiful spring fashions from So Bella Boutique in Camarillo, workout wear from Bella Fit in Thousand Oaks, and handbags from S.A.N.E. Boutique in Calabasas. Hair and make-up were very boho chic, inspired by Coachella-style, and provided by celebrity hair artist Allen Edwards, Ingrid Jenson and his team. Along side for makeup was the talented Karen’s Creative Illusions.

Spring is all about renewal, bright colors and having fun. We shared that with the crowd with fashions in bright, beautiful colors, loose, flowing fabrics, and headpieces from What a Betty that were perfect for showing how creativity and a bit of whimsy can be the thing that really makes you stand out.

Another way to amp up your wardrobe is by adding a handbag in an unexpected size, shape or color. Mix and match for easy ways to create a whole new look for your favorite spring styles.

Throughout the show and all I do, I hope that you can see that by creating a signature look and letting your personal style shine through, you’ll become confident, empowered, and able to go out there and do the things you want and need to make your world a better place. I love how we all worked together that night to create something truly special – getting the word about a great organization supporting early detection for cancer, supporting local businesses, artists, and leaders, and building a community that is stylish, strong and confident for a better world.
